The Sentinel-3 Performance improvement for ICE sheets (SPICE) project objective is to test and implement improved or novel algorithms and techniques with CryoSat2 SAR mode in order to optimise and evaluate processing of Sentinel-3 SAR mode data over ice sheets. The study has delivered important new scientific results and establish a solid methodological basis for the development of a new era of operational SAR altimetry over the polar ice sheets.
isardSAT has been testing and implementing improved or new algorithms and techniques using CryoSat2 LRM/SAR mode, in order to optimise and evaluate processing of Sentinel-3 SAR mode data over ice sheets.
This project has been funded by ESA under the Scientific Exploitation of Operational Missions (SEOM) Programme Element to study the potentialities of Sentinel-3 SAR mode over ice sheets.
